Dandruff is primarily associated with excessive flaking of the scalp - this type of dandruff most often indicates a fungal infection. Pink lichen is a disease of presumably viral etiology. What does it mean? Serological examination of samples showed the presence of viruses. Moreover, the course of the disease indicates the presence of the so-called incubation period - at first, a single, clearly defined focus of the disease is observed, and then a generalized spread of skin lesions is observed.
In most cases, the beginning of Gibert’s dandruff is indicated by the so-called uterine plaque, i.e., a pink spot of several centimeters, exfoliating in the peripheral part. A few days later, seeding occurs with numerous medallion foci on the trunk and proximal upper and lower extremities. Typically, skin lesions are located on the chest, back, neck, abdomen, arms, and thighs. In a small percentage of patients, rosacea symptoms are also visible on the face.
Pink lichen - what are its causes?
Pityriasis rosea was first discovered by dermatologist Camille Melchior Gibert. It is a disease whose causes are unknown. As already mentioned, this disease is associated with infectious agents. Viral etiology - things like:
-
seasonal increase in the incidence of tinea hiberta,
-
the appearance of symptoms of Zhibera rosacea after the symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection subside,
-
cases of pink deprivation in persons from the environment of the patient.
Zhibera rosacea resolves spontaneously and rarely recurs - most patients acquire stable immunity, which also indicates a viral etiology of the disease. Some research suggests that pityriasis rosea may be associated with herpes simplex virus 7 (HHS7) infection.
Pityriasis rosea can cause some diagnostic difficulties. In the case of Gibert’s dandruff, a differential diagnosis is necessary, including other dermatoses, for example, superficial mycosis and psoriasis.
What are the symptoms of ringworm rosacea?
Symptoms of Gibera rosacea include:
-
formation of stem plaque on the skin in the form of a pink spot with a diameter of several centimeters, exfoliating in the peripheral part,
-
generalized sowing of rashes 6-10 days after the appearance of maternal plaque - skin lesions indicating rosacea have the appearance of red spots of a medallion or rounded shape.
This is characteristic of Gibert’s rosacea. no itchingoccurring only in a small percentage of patients, mainly in children, and not very severe.
The disease most often affects people between the ages of 10 and 35. dotka The duration of the disease is usually 4-6 weeks. However, in some patients, symptoms may persist for up to 8 weeks.
Sometimes during Zhiber’s dandruff they find:
-
enlarged lymph nodes
-
increase in body temperature,
-
headache,
-
muscle and joint pain,
-
digestive symptoms.
The course and treatment of pink lichen
Gibert’s dandruff usually does not require treatment. Skin changes resolve spontaneously.. Complications of the disease in patients with PR are rare. If, for example, it appears in the first and second trimester of pregnancy, it can lead, among other things, to miscarriage and premature birth.
