The Cabinet of Ministers of the Netherlands again asks municipalities to provide additional places to receive Ukrainians. It is expected that 97,000 refugee beds will be needed by February 1, Secretary of State Eric van der Burg said in a letter to mayors. De Telegraaf reports this.
Just last week, during Security Council consultations, city mayors promised to create 90,000 places to receive citizens. Now there are more than 81,000. But then the President of the Security Council Wouter Kolff said that he already assumes that even more places will be needed to receive refugees. The influx of refugees from Ukraine does not stop, says the letter from the Secretary of State. And it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon. It is expected that by the end of this year there will be more than 104,400 Ukrainian refugees. Some Ukrainians live with private individuals.
Let us add that in May of this year in the Netherlands, Vlaardingen began preparing for the opening of an entire town for refugees - almost four hundred houses, a hospital and a school. There will be 387 houses, a kindergarten and a school, a hospital and a sports club. “Dream” is the name given to the future settlement in the center of the Netherlands; it will be a real Ukrainian town, a Ukrainian environment.
Previously, FACTS reported that Ukrainian refugees who became parents in Poland would be paid one thousand zlotys.
