On Tuesday, February 7, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Vasily Malyuk to the post of head of the SBU. This was announced by the People’s Deputy Alexei Goncharenko.
The corresponding resolution was supported by 324 deputies.
According to Goncharenko’s colleague, People’s Deputy Zheleznyak, the President of Ukraine, Vice President, Prime Minister, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and the Prosecutor General attended the voting.
In his speech, Zelensky called on people’s deputies to vote for Vasily Malyuk.
The kid, in turn, promised to fight with collaborators at all levels.

Vasily Malysh - brigadier general. In 2005 he graduated from the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine (major in Jurisprudence), has a Ph.D.
Malysh has been in military service in the state security bodies since 2001. He managed to work in the regional departments of the SBU, where he held positions from detective to deputy head of department - head of the department for combating corruption and organized crime.
Malysh came to the Central Directorate of the Service in January 2020 - immediately to the position of First Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the SBU.
Already in March 2020, he was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the SBU Ivan Bakanov, he also headed the Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime.
But just over a year later, in July 2021, Malysh was fired from his high position.
These personnel decisions in the Office of the President were explained by the presence of complaints about the work of the SBU, in particular, regarding the insufficient activity of the special services in countering smuggling schemes.
Again in the public plane, the Kid appeared a few days before the full-scale invasion of Russia. On February 16, he became Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky. But already on February 28, he was fired from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and appointed deputy head of the SBU, and in March 2022, Malysh became Bakanov’s first deputy for the second time.
At the end of the same month, he was awarded the rank of brigadier general.
In July 2022, Ivan Bakanov was fired from the post of chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine. On July 18, Zelensky appointed First Deputy Head of the SBU Vasily Malyuk as interim head of the department.
Let’s remind, Igor Klymenko became the new Minister of Internal Affairs. Today, the Verkhovna Rada voted for his appointment.
