The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv found the citizen guilty of high treason. This became known from the published verdict.
The accused is a native of Sevastopol. He met with citizens of the Russian Federation associated with the special services. In particular, with a woman who carried out propaganda of the “Russian world”, she opposed the policies of the European Union, the United States by publishing through her own Internet channels and blogs on the Bastion and NOD International Movement for Democracy and Freedom websites. Another citizen is a man who had the symbol “Z” on the screensaver in the telegram, painted with the colors of the St. George ribbon and with the date “1945-2022”.
These persons instructed the Ukrainian to collect and transmit to them information about the deployment of strategically important facilities, including military units, military factories, and critical infrastructure facilities on the territory of Ukraine. All this had to pass through messages and calls in the telegram.
It is known that on February 26, the man transmitted information on the destruction of documents by employees of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and a photo of confirmation of this fact to a network user with the nickname “I”. Two days later, he transmitted data on the location of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, PJSC “NPO “Kyiv Automation Plant”, which is part of the concern “Ukroboronprom”, the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Headquarters of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On March 2, the Ukrainian transmitted information about the location of the military unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, after which he “leaked” the coordinates of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
In addition, on March 16, a citizen of Ukraine sent to Viber information about the location of PJSC NPO Kiev Automation Plant and information about its shelling to a Russian citizen. According to the investigation, he lives in Sevastopol and is involved in the intelligence and subversive activities of the enemy’s special services.
On March 20, the man was detained and a suspicion of high treason was announced. The defendant admitted his guilt completely, sincerely repented. At the trial, he said that he corresponded with one of the Russians for about a year. He indicated that he informed the invaders about the events that took place near the Ministry of Defense. He noted that, in his opinion, there was no open conflict with the neighbors. He also pointed out that he was sick and penitent sincerely.
As a result, the ministers of Themis sentenced him to 15 years in prison with the confiscation of all his property. In addition, the offender must pay procedural costs in the amount of 26427 hryvnia.
