Pavlenko’s wife was found dead in the Arkhangelsk settlement in the Kherson region, which is temporarily occupied. A man and a woman were killed on the evening of 23 August. According to journalist Oleg BaturinValentin Pavlenko was shot in the head, and his wife Larisa was lying under his body.
“The Pavlenkos were engaged in small-scale farming, and the Russian military broke into their homes at least three times, he wrote on Facebook. - Both of them were offered to leave for Ukrainian-controlled territory, but they did not want to leave their farm. They told their neighbors that they could escape the shelling in the cellar under their house.”
The publication reports that the criminals could use weapons with a silencer, because they did not hear the sounds of shots.
“What happened there, we don’t know. Larisa and Valentin never left the yard during curfew, so we didn’t pay much attention to the wrong noise. When we didn’t see them in our yard on the morning of August 24, we started to worry.”
