Horror fans are currently experiencing a renaissance of the creepy genre. Something that may not have been seen since the 1980s. 2023 has been another historic year for horror films like M3GAN, Creek VIAnd The Evil Dead Rise scary checkout. This is just fueling the bloody success of 2022. There were so many brilliant, genre-defining films last year that scared the shit out of moviegoers. However, none of them were as financially successful as the psychological horror hit with a unique market. Smile. Now, nearly a year later, the critically acclaimed film is finally out in 4K.

This came to us from Dawn of the Disc, who posted on their various social media accounts that Smile will be released on 4K Blu-ray via a new sinister steel book. The features are apparently the same as last year’s previous Blu-ray release, but the steelbook has a new cover for one of Smilealternate posters showing a woman being cast by a shadow, hanging upside down with the film’s characteristic death smile on her face. The red and black color scheme goes a long way in giving horror fans a lot of bad memories of watching this diabolical exploration of trauma. Also, just like on Blu-ray, a short film will be included in this remastered release. Laura didn’t sleep which Smile was based on.

What Smile ABOUT?

Smilea very dark film that follows Dr. Rose Kotter after one of her new patients dies by suicide in front of her under very unusual and haunting circumstances. Afterwards, Rose begins to experience bizarre hallucinations involving demons with especially frightening smirks on their faces, which drive her to the brink of insanity. Things only get worse when her dark past rises from the dead. Bye Smile was not the most original film in the world, the film made up for it with its intense atmosphere and great acting. Director Parker Finn knows how to get under the skin of horror audiences and actors Sosie Bacon (13 reasons why, Scream: The Series) And Kyle Gallner (A Nightmare on Elm Street, scream) are doing a phenomenal job of spreading the fear of this unholy situation. It was just a well-made horror thriller in the vein of something like Should And Ring. That’s why it was so great to see the film become a real success.

With a stellar and creative marketing campaign, fans of horror and other genres flocked to theaters to watch Smile. After a wildly strong opening weekend, the film grossed $217.4 million worldwide on a low budget of $17 million. If you are not a brand like scream or halloween, is unheard of in today’s blockbuster world. It proved that there is little room for low-budget horror films and nothing beats this genre in theaters. Besides putting it into perspective, the movie did more than the last two. scream movie, The Evil Dead RiseAnd Halloween is ending. This has not gone unnoticed as Smile 2 is already in development.

When Smile switching to 4K?
