Bye succession There were many twists and turns in this Sunday’s series finale, there was one major character who was quietly taken out of the trenches. Connor (Alan Ruck) never really cared about inheriting Waystar Royco, running various business ventures outside of his father’s line of business. In the last years of his life, he drew inspiration from his relationship with Willa (Justine Lupe), actually seeking to fall in love with someone in order to bring something positive into their lives. During a recent interview with DiversityThe actor spoke about what Connor’s future is likely to look like:

I think he is a little heartbroken by this because he is completely lost without Willa. She gave him great confidence. He was always the guy no one took seriously. If he loses Willa, even if only for a while, he will become sullen. If this marriage doesn’t work out, if he actually loses her, it will be sort of the end of Connor. He would be a human shell. I don’t know how long it will last, to be honest.

When Connor was first introduced in debut season succession, he lived far away from New York, collecting unusual antiques with little care in the world. Even if he was not interested in the family business, he was still the first son of one of the richest people on the planet, so Logan (Brian Cox) made sure Connor had everything he needed. After his father’s health began to fail, Connor became a little more involved with his family, always attending major events even if he wasn’t directly involved in them. If he wasn’t perfect, at least he was Roy’s sweetest brother.

Father figure for his brothers

Throughout the story, it becomes clear that Logan’s only love was his massive media conglomerate, which kept him away from what really mattered the most, his friends and family. Due to his absence, Connor had to be more than a brother, taking care of Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Kendall (Jeremy Strong) whenever they needed it. While it was never directly mentioned in the series, it can be inferred from the stories the characters tell about their past. Connor took the boys fishing and gave them life advice, not Logan.
