Writers Guild of Americawage strike that began last month on May 2, and now Matt Reeves’ Batman The sequel is the latest project to suffer delays due to AMPTP’s unwillingness to negotiate with writers on issues such as fair pay. Batman part 2 filming will now begin next year, although production was originally scheduled to begin later this year in London.

In addition to being the film’s director, Reeves will also serve as a screenwriter along with Mattson Tomlin, both of whom took an active part in the strike. Continuation of 2022 Batman originally planned to start filming later this November, however Midgard Times reported that it will now take place in March 2024. However, the delay is not expected to affect the film’s release date. October 3, 2025

It’s not the only one Batman property to face delays due to the strike, with Penguin spin-off series based on Collin Farrellcharacter in Batman — stop production after the start back in March. Production on the series was scheduled to wrap up this August, although the duration of the current strike is still unknown and time will tell how long it will last. Farrell is also set to return to reprise his role in Batman part 2.
