Responding to difficult and dark times through art is perhaps the best way for people to process their emotions and find a way to make their voices heard even when all seems lost. Such is the case with give me five, an anthology film produced by a handful of high-profile directors and actors who wanted to speak out in the wake of the unprecedented dismissal of Roe v. Wade. It’s been almost a full year since the Supreme Court voted to strike down a landmark abortion case, curtailing the rights of women able to give birth across the country. While many were feeling shut up, 17 female directors joined the cast, including Alyssa Milano And Jennifer Holland put an unthinkable solution in the prism of genres such as horror, science fiction and black comedy.

Collider is delighted to share today an exclusive trailer that begins with a black comedy take on Holland reading his “rights” to a male partner if she gets pregnant. After being told that he will have to fully support the child, the train pulls out of the station and we are bombarded with a seamless montage of various moments from other films. From gore and shock to sci-fi and even colonial costumes, the filmmakers have gone all out. Along with Milan and Holland, give me five also stars Gina Torres (Firefly, Angel), Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Milana Vaintrubi (This is us), Molly S. Quinn (Lock), Jackie Ton (SHINE), Monique Coleman (High School Music School), Sean Gunn (guardians of the galaxy franchise) and Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy).

Leaping behind the camera to bring their stories to life, directors include Natasha Halevi (beauty juice), Bonnie Disepolo (Grandma’s House), Erica Mary Wright (red notice), Meg Swertlow (The next 2 you), Danin Jacqui (Fatal Collective: Bleeding), Sarah Copkin (Listening), Hanna Allyn (Doom Patrol, cherry), Kelly Nygaard (Drowning), Valerie Finkel (awakening life), Avital Ash (Barry), Lauren Escandon (Casa Grande), Caitlin Hargraves (mi casa), Mary S.
