After nine seasons the story Grant GustinBarry Allen will make his final run next week. Entertainment Weekly has released new footage from the upcoming series finale. Flashwhich will air on Wednesday, May 24. One image shows Barry Allen Flash teaming up with Jay Garrick Flash (John Wesley Shipp). Shipp also played Barry Allen from 1990-1991. Flash television series, a role he later reprized in the Elseworlds and Crisis on Infinite Earths crossovers.
One of the other photos shows Iris West Allen (Candice Patton) in the hospital with Barry next to her. Earlier this season, Barry wrote a book in which he talked about the future of the couple, including the fact that Iris will soon become pregnant. A few episodes later, it was revealed that she was pregnant with their daughter Nora. Through time travel, Barry and Iris have already met the adult Nora from the future, played by Jessica Parker Kennedy. Nora has inherited her father’s speed and fights crime as an XS superhero.
Another photo shows a trio of villains that the Flash has faced before. The line includes Zoom/Hunter Zolomon (Teddy Sears), God Speed/August Heart (Karan Oberoi) and Barry’s nemesis: Reverse Flash/Eobard Thawne (Tom Kavanagh). Like The Flash, all three villains are speedsters. Speaking about his role in the finale, Kavanagh said, “The last day I did this, there was blood and glass and destruction and explosions of things - it’s a good way to get out of the house. Flash Give the hero a happy ending
While some superhero stories end tragically, Gustin shared that Barry Allen’s story will have a happy ending. “Ultimately, I think it’s probably looking back on it, and when fans rewatch it, it’s probably how they want it to end,” Gustin said. “And that’s nice too, you end on a happy note. And there are still some unknowns. It’s like the story goes on, you know? Our show ends, but it stays where the story continues.”
