Iconic ‘Saw’ characters join NECA’s ‘Toony Terrors’ lineup

The 6″ action figures feature Jigsaw Killer and Billy the Puppet in a playful Saturday morning cartoon style. However, if you’ve watched the movies, these numbers are anything but playful. Jigsaw comes in his signature red and black hooded robe, with a deadly blade attached to his arm and two head sculpts. One shows Bell’s face and the other shows Jigsaw in his iconic pig mask. Bell’s head sculpt is particularly impressive as it perfectly captures the resemblance to the actor despite the cartoony style. Billy, on the other hand, is ready for the grand entrance as this horrible puppet comes with a red tricycle. The last accessory in this set is the Reverse Bear Trap. This is arguably the most iconic trap and image in the entire franchise, so it will put a smile on the face of any horror fan. The Toony Terrors line has been a great affordable option over the last few years to counter NECA’s more premium numbers. Saw now joins a long list of historic franchises in a lineup that includes halloween, Evil Dead, A Nightmare on Elm Street, spell, ShineAnd THIS.

Heritage Saw

Bye Saw and Jigsaw have become household names today when the original film created by the director James Wang and writer Leigh Whannell released in 2004, no one knew it would be the next popular annual horror franchise. The original film was a messy puzzle box with a simple premise of two strangers locked together in a room. He endlessly tormented his audience with his disgusting bathroom aesthetic. Bell’s idealistic killer and elaborate traps weren’t the focus of the first film, but Saw was at the center of one of the best endings in horror history. This is something that really needs to be seen to be believed. After that, Wan and Whannell became horror icons while continuing to create other iconic genres such as Dead silence, spellAnd insidious. However, it is rare for filmmakers to create an entire sub-germ with just one film, but with Saw the subgenre “torture porn” was born.

Saw will fall victim to an annual horror film release for the next fifty years, and further explores its soap opera-style storylines and Jigsaw’s complex backstory.
