As more and more films are released year after year, it’s impossible for every major release to achieve the high level of quality that was expected and somehow not live up to this mark. Some films manage to fail so badly in achieving their goals that they come back and achieve a completely different goal, becoming a movie that can be considered so bad that it’s good.
Although the history of cinema has many cult films “So bad, even good”, such as Room And Manos: Hands of Destiny, several such films are still produced in the modern era. The rise of franchises, streaming services, and failed adaptations in the digital age has led to a number of films that will go down in history as the enduring legends of So Bad, It’s Good.
10 “Artemis Fowl” (2020)
Based on a series of novels for young adults. Artemis Fowl follows the titular child Artemis Fowl Jr. as he uncovers the secret world of the underground fairies and other mythical creatures. After the disappearance of his father, Artemis must crack the code and fight an army of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.
While the book series became a favorite among readers, Disney’s attempt to adapt the series for the big screen failed to bring back the magic and wonder of the series. Throughout the film, there’s a cavalcade of issues and hilariously out-of-control moments that turn what should have been the start of a big new franchise into one big punchline. Especially for a film with a huge budget of $125 million, the amount of mismanagement and mismanagement at all stages makes it appealing to those who aren’t emotionally attached to the novels.
9 ‘Doolittle’ (2020)
The latest adaptation of the classic veterinarian who talks to animals. Doolittle sees Dr. Dolittle in Victorian Britain in the decline of sadness after the death of his wife. But when young Queen Victoria falls ill with a mysterious illness, Dolittle and a group of animal companions set sail on the sea to find a cure.
For the first leading role, which Robert Downey Jr. had after leaving the MCU with Avengers: Endgamemoviegoers, frankly, expected something other than Doolittle. While the film bills itself as a dashing adventure, too much emphasis is placed on the childish low-brow humor that comes from companion animals and their own underdeveloped quirks. However, what really takes the movie beyond “So Bad, It’s Good” is Downey Jr.’s odd acting and voice, which makes every line of dialogue unintentionally feel wrong.
8 “Walking Chaos” (2021)
Chaos Walk The action takes place on a distant planet where all the thoughts of people are put on display for everyone to hear, in a phenomenon known as “noise”. When the ship lands with the young girl Viola (played by Daisy Ridley), decide Todd Hewitt (played by Tom Holland) to protect her from the dangers of the planet and his village.
From the very first scenes Chaos Walk, you can immediately recognize the rough production and re-shoots of the resulting film, as the final product really does feel hastily put together. While Ridley and Holland both excelled in their own mega-franchises, this film gives these young stars next to nothing to work with in real life. The result is a strange but beautifully horrifying sci-fi hodgepodge that raises many more questions about its world than it answers.
7 ‘Slim Man’ (2018)
Based on the classic Internet horror. Slender man tells the story of four high school girls who perform a ritual in an attempt to debunk stories about the mysterious Slenderman. However, things start to go wrong when one of the four girls goes missing, leading the other girls to suspect that she may have been Slenderman’s latest victim.
The peak of popularity of the Slenderman character fell on the period from 2012 to 2014, so after 4 years, Slender man was released far beyond the character’s popularity cycle. However, being late to the party was the least of this film’s problems, as it takes what should be a simple retelling of the original Slender Man stories and removes any real tension within them. The result is a simple horror movie that doesn’t understand what’s really scary about Slenderman, resulting in it seeming a lot more fun than it should theoretically be.
6 “Tall Girl 2” (2022)
Sequel to the original Netflix teen romantic comedy based on height. tall girl 2 shows the ongoing high school life of Jody and her friends now that she has become a popular girl with a guy. Although popularity isn’t what it should be for Jodie, she begins to crumble under constant pressure to live up to her reputation.
Original A tall girl was already a hilariously deaf film that equated “being tall” with a huge burden that weighed down someone during their high school days. The sequel just keeps bringing more chaos and confusion into the mix, with cheesy acting and inappropriate emotional moments, continuing the beauty of this “So Bad, It’s Good” series. The fact is that tall girl 2 was able to be struck twice by lightning in So Bad, It’s Good in such a way that very few So Bad, It’s Good sequels are truly admirable.
5 “Fanatic” (2019)
Directed by Limp Bizkit. Fred Durst, Fanatic tells the story of Hollywood Boulevard actor Musa (played by John Travolta), an autistic man who loves movies. Moose soon has a chance to meet his personal idol and favorite movie star, Hunter Dunbar (played by Devon Sawa), but the interaction turns sour and Dunbar lashes out at Moose. The interaction causes Musa to have a nervous breakdown, and he begins to dedicate his life to ruining the life of his once-hero.
Travolta is no stranger to starring in a plethora of classic “So Bad It’s Good” movies, but Fanatic may simply be his greatest opus “So Bad, It’s Good”. His performance strikes a perfect balance between doubtfully problematic and marvelously bewildering that the end result is a goldmine of unintentional hilarity. The film also features hilarious editing choices and another great unintentionally comedic performance from Sava, creating a unique experience that must be seen to be believed.
4 ‘Moonlight Night’ (2022)
Moon landing this is the latest disaster film from the director Roland Emmerich, where the Earth is in danger after a mysterious force knocks the Moon out of its orbit and flies towards the planet. A ragtag team of astronauts and scientists must go to the moon and find out exactly why the moon went out of orbit and hopefully save the entire planet from destruction.
Emmerich has been making these big-budget, low-quality disaster films for a long time, but Moon landing may just be his crowning achievement in absurd insanity. For a simple “moon falls to Earth” premise, the twists and turns the plot uses to explain it are some of the most ludicrous explanations ever given in science fiction. On top of that, there’s a general overall feeling and tone to almost everyone on screen that no one cares about the final product, which makes it very comedic.
3 “Morbius” (2022)

The last film in the Spider-Man universe from Sony. Morbius tells the origin story to Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist experimenting with bat DNA to save his life from a debilitating disease. However, the tests go wrong and soon the doctor turns into a terrifying vampire who is forced to consume blood in order to survive.
Whether it was due to numerous delays and behind-the-scenes issues, or simply a reassessment of interest in Morbius as a character, the end result quickly became the laughing stock of the internet. Especially in this day and age when superhero movies are everywhere. Morbiusthe use of overused tricks and main storylines seems so harmless and lazy that it becomes funny. jokes around Morbius did write about its release, but the only people who weren’t up to date with the jokes were, ironically, Sony itself.
2 ‘Serenity’ (2019)
tranquility tells the story of Baker Dill, a quiet and introverted boat captain living on the isolated island of Plymouth, who develops a passion for catching the legendary massive tuna. His quiet life soon collapses when his ex-wife approaches him with an offer to kill her new husband on a fishing trip in exchange for $10 million.
Like many great thrillers before it, tranquility it is a film defined by the turn of the game before the third act, a turn that completely changes the entire context of the film. It is no exaggeration to turn into tranquility might just be the craziest, pointless and hilarious twist ever made. It’s a twist that’s already hilarious and annoying on its own, and also makes the entire movie before and after that point equally hilarious, given the context.
1 ‘Cats’ (2019)
Based on the world famous Broadway play. cats gives you a glimpse into the world of Jellicle cats, a tribe of humanoid cats that love to sing and dance. Each year, the cats decide to have one of them climb up the Heaviside layer and return to their new Jellicle life, and the show begins when a new cat, Victoria, enters the fray.
While the original Broadway play was infamous for its weirdness, the adaptation of Cats’ epitome of visual effects and animation is unlike anything seen in film. It’s an experience that one would imagine would lose its comedic value, but the movie succeeds and continually continues to outdo itself in the frenzy and confusion. The number of A-List stars and massive marketing campaigns placed on a film so visually unappealing only further increased the film’s intrinsic comedic value and legendary status.
