[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for Yellowjackets, Season 2, Episode 6, “Qui.”]As you would expect from a show like this yellow jacketsSo far season 2 has given viewers answers to many burning questions - Xavi (Luciano Leroux) is still alive, what will happen to Shauna (Sophie Nelisse) a baby, etc. - but there are still plenty of interesting things to explore in the last three episodes of the season.
The characters of the 1996 portion of the show will no doubt see a seismic shift in group dynamics following the death of Shauna’s child. Given Lottie (Courtney Eaton) the ritual failed to save the child, will it affect their belief in her teachings and possible powers? In addition, the group is still struggling to find enough food to survive. How will this pressure affect them physically and mentally?
The questions go on and on, and while we’ll have to wait for episodes 7, 8, and 9 to stream on May 12, 19, and 26 respectively for concrete answers, showrunner Ashley Lyle really missed a few clues during the spoiler part of our interview about season 2.
While Lyle, Bart NickersonAnd Jonathan Lisko open to changes when necessary - for example, Liv HewsonVan from Van, for example - they threw in a number of big clues in the first season that they were sure would pay off in the second season. Have fresh thoughts for the future:
“I won’t give context just yet because it’s a spoiler, but there’s a moment at the keg party in the pilot where Natalie trips and sees Misty, and that’s something we put in very early on and it pays off later. ”
If you go back and watch this moment frame by frame, you will see many images with elements that are now actively used − Samantha HanrattyMisty lurking in the distance, carved meat, and footage of the Queen of Horns with her followers.
And Lyle didn’t stop there. She also teased the importance of a particular line Sophie ThatcherNatalie from Natalie says to TravisKevin Alves) in season 1, episode 8:
What episode was this in? It was in the 1st season and I think in the 6th, 7th episodes, something like that. But there is a random line where Travis is playing solitaire or trying to play solitaire, and Natalie tells him that there are no queens in this deck, and this season it was very important.
At this point, we know that a deck of cards is regularly used to allocate chores around the house, and there are also two shots of the queen cards shown in the show’s opening credits, one of the queen of diamonds and one of the queen of hearts with her eyes crossed out. .
What does all of this mean? We’ll have to wait and see the final episodes of the season!
