In anticipation of the release Movie Super Mario Bros.Lighting pays a lot of attention Seth RogenDonkey Kong. The iconic gorilla and the Italian plumber return to the slot machines with the original. At first glance, the two IP addresses couldn’t be more different. If one is a high-octane action, racing, and family movie, the other is about a gorilla’s long-running feud with the giant reptile, King K. Rool, usually involving stolen bananas. The only thing that unites them and makes the spin-off even more intriguing is the family. Already, Movie Super Mario Bros. one member of Donkey Kong’s family will be introduced with Fred ArmisenCranky Kong, but there are so many other Kongs in the franchise that would be interesting to see on screen. “There are a lot of opportunities out there,” Rogen said. “I think the Kong family unit - and if the Fast & Furious movies have taught us anything, [it’s] that it’s all about the family.”

Apart from Donkey Kong and his grandfather (or father in Donkey Kong 64) Cranky, there’s also DC’s loyal little buddy Diddy Kong along with sisters Dixie and Tiny Kong, the super-strong Chunky Kong, his brother Kiddy Kong and Lanky Kong who has no style or grace but has a funny face. And that’s without mentioning Kong’s other friends, like the fabulous Funky Kong and Swanky Kong, or DK’s girlfriend Candy Kong. Just like the House of Toretto (VIN diesel), they all play to their respective strengths, making them a formidable force when they work together. So the spin-off could bring the family together to stop the nefarious K. Rule’s rebellion.

They have another thing in common with fast and furious family is the love of racing. As you can see from the teasers, DK definitely needs speed. Movie Super Mario Bros.but he is also a skilled driver in the games, appearing in various Mario Kart games with Diddy Kong. Diddy has also had his own racing game in the past, featuring other friends and crossovers with other mascots from the legendary gaming studio Rare, including Banjo and Conker. Both Rogen and Nemiroff joked about the similarity of racing to Rogen, adding, “Exactly! They have these karts. Lots of crossovers!

Movie Super Mario Bros. Has no shortage of sequel or spin-off potential

Considering how big the world of Mario is, Illumination has no shortage of directions to create its own MCU, the Mario Cinematic Universe. Already the voice of the plumber himself Chris Pratt teased how the post-credits scene would set the stage for the sequel. The characters that appear in the trailers also hint at other possibilities. For example, the original trailer teased what is possible Luigi’s mansion The spin-off could have looked like this with its final scene as the green plumber runs away from the Dry Bones horde.
