Before Vasilis Katsupis’ Inside hits theaters March 17, Rotten Tomatoes (via DiscussionFilm) released a new poster for the film, where Willem Dafoethe character Nemo is depicted in the painting. The character seems to be in trouble, looking for someone to help him. The way Nemo is presented on the poster is directly related to the plot of the film, where the character goes to steal art from the penthouse. Before Nemo can escape with what he is trying to rob, an alarm goes off, activating security measures including thick glass and concrete walls.
It is unknown how long it would take someone to find Nemo, considering how his team abandoned him when they realized the mission would not be successful. The extreme isolation Nemo must endure becomes the focal point of the narrative, exploring how the burglar must find a way to survive being locked up for so long with no one to talk to. As a character-driven story, the weight of the plot rests on Defoe’s shoulders, giving the actor free rein in the performance he wants to deliver.
The film had its world premiere at this year’s film festival. Berlin International Film Festival. After filming during the summer of 2021 Inside made an impressive analysis of the human mind in extreme isolation, and Defoe presented a performance that proves that he still yearns to develop as an artist, even if his trajectory is already nothing short of impressive. Katsoupis’ drama is ready to push the actor to the limit in a twisted tale of resource hunting and survival.
Willem Dafoe next seen in Nosferatu
After the actor tells the story of Nemo in the upcoming film, he will join the cast Robert EggerX Nosferatu. In this silent-era remake of a movie classic, Eggers uses his unique voice to bring the legendary vampire back to life. The basic premise of the story will remain unchanged as the vampire living in the castle becomes a possessed teenager, haunting her and becoming part of her nightmares. Dafoe previously collaborated with the director when they filmed Lighthouse And Northerner.
