I consider it humiliating to ask the aggressor for permission to sail a ship with grain from Ukraine,” Viktor Yushchenko said.

During the LSE SU Polish Economic Forum 2023, which is organized by the Polish community of the London School of Economics, one of the guests was the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko. By the way, he was asked about the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea ports.

The Black Sea is not Russian

At a press conference in London, the ex-president touched upon the issue of exporting Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea ports.

- The Black Sea is not territorially Russian, Ukrainian or Turkish. These are international waters. We need to create an international law that will be the basis for international grain transactions. We will not ask Putin whether he will allow it or not. We will work on this with our international partners, including NATO. said Viktor Yushchenko.

Asking permission from Russia is humiliating

The ex-president of Ukraine admitted that the fact that Ukraine is forced to ask Russia for permission to export its own grain is humiliating. He also imagined that the small presence of US and British navies would prevent Russian aggressive actions in the Black Sea.

– I consider it humiliating to ask the aggressor for permission to sail a ship with grain from the territory of Ukraine – said Viktor Yushchenko. - I think that two US ships and two UK ships will be enough to ensure security in the Black Sea basin - added the former president of Ukraine.

– Two years ago Ukraine produced 100 million tons of grain. This is the first place in Europe and the fifth in the world. Now the task is to restore this task. ⅓ of our grain is not stored in silos. We urgently need to find ways to develop grain processing infrastructure - also indicated.
