On Apple TV+, it’s going to be really exciting. Today, the streamer released a new trailer for his upcoming heist movie. sharper, set in New York’s wealthiest neighborhoods as secrets and lies are created and begin to unravel. The film will be shown in select theaters starting February 10 and then available to stream exclusively on Apple TV+ on February 17.
sharper stars Sebastian Stan like a swindler, Max, whose mother (Julianne Moore) recently entered into a relationship with a billionaire (John Lithgow). Max then teams up with an accomplice (Briana Middleton) seduce the son of a billionaire (Justice Smith) in the master plan to get a huge salary. What follows is “a high-stakes game of ambition, greed, lust and jealousy that will keep viewers guessing until the last moment.” sharper also stars Darren Goldstein.
Early in the trailer, we get a glimpse of Max’s cheating tendencies and how his mother can see through them. He tries to fake an arrest so her billionaire boyfriend pays off a fake cop, but she can’t be fooled. The rest of the trailer teases the intrigue and mystery surrounding Max’s scheme as he and his accomplice launch their latest scam. There may also be more to the movie than the trailer allows for, as it ends with the tagline “Can you read between the lies.”
sharper leads Benjamin Caron according to the scenario Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. Prior to this film, Caron was primarily a television director, directing episodes of popular series such as Andor, Crownand Sherlock. Gatewood and Tanaka are a permanent team of writers who have previously worked together on episodes of series such as Supermarket and animal practice. They wrote the movie Nurse together.
sharper produced Eric Feig, Jessica Switchmoore, Bart Freundlich, Gatewood and Tanaka. Besides, Julia Hammer and Amy German act as executive producers. The film is the result of a collaboration between Apple Original Films and A24.
