What do you do in a horror franchise when you’re trying to keep it alive but want to be unique? Well, take it to space, of course! In the horror genre, sci-fi horror is one of those sub-genres that either grab attention or make a movie so bad that it becomes good and eventually reaches cult levels. It hasn’t been done too often, but some of the most popular horror franchises send their killers into the vast unknown and see them stack up in zero gravity. Let’s look at those who did it, and those who shot at the moon, but fell a little short.

5 Amityville In Space

This movie is the most recent of all on the list and certainly the most far-fetched. The priest is asked to come and rid the house of the demons, but instead uses his powers to ask God to remove the house from the face of the earth. The house is launched into space and orbits for several centuries before a team of Space Marines discover the house and the priest. From here, the priest and the Marines must rid the house of evil before it can return to Earth. Amityville the franchise is now free to anyone as the name cannot be trademarked because it is a physical location. Because of this, the franchise continues to spawn its own demons, and the directors do whatever they want with the name.

4. Beasts 4

Of all the films on this list, creatures it’s one that has original sci-fi roots, which makes this entry less far-fetched. Beasts 4 Set in the year 2045, Captain Rick finds a capsule containing two remaining crit eggs and Charlie McFadden, the bounty hunter from the previous films. The eggs hatch while they wait for the eggs to be taken and the Kraits attack. We’re losing some of the monster focus in this movie and a lot of the comedy. creatures movie, so it’s not a fan favorite of the franchise.

3 Leprechaun 4: In Space

Fourth part Leprechaun the films are interesting, like its predecessors, but they lack a storyline. We’ll never know exactly how, but somehow the Leprechaun ends up in orbit and kidnaps royalty from an alien planet to become the supreme ruler of the planet. Of course, there are space defenders/marines there to stop him and his sinister plan. we see Warwick Davis wield a lightsaber and, in fact, Leprechaun the movies are pure cheese entertainment. The fourth otherworldly part is no different.

2 Hellraiser: Bloodline

Another fourth film in the franchise. Hellraiser The sequel is quite ambitious and takes place over three timelines, one of which is the year 2127 in space. It was the last Hellraiser film to be released in theaters, the last one to have Clive Barkerparticipation, and we will see the creation of the Wailing Box. This story in the franchise brings a lot of gore, and as you’d expect, we’re getting a great performance from Pinhead. This film has had some budget cuts so not all the special effects are up to par, but the introduction of new cenobites as well as tying the storyline together in three different time periods makes this one of the favorites among Hellraiser fans.

1. Jason X

Friday the 13th the franchise has spread everywhere, from Manhattan to Hell to outer space in the tenth film, Jason X. In 2455, humans left Earth 2 to return to Old Earth, where everything is polluted and deadly, but of course, some ancient artifacts can be found! One such artifact is a frozen Jason Voorhees being defrosted on a spacecraft back to Earth 2 and taking full advantage of the limited space to wreak havoc on those on board. One of the coolest kills in this movie is when Jason puts Adrian’s head in a vat of liquid nitrogen and then smashes it on the counter. Always friendly and cheeky Friday the 13th movies follow the same blueprint for what to expect and Jason X delivered on all fronts in an area that is generally little used.
