Back in October, much to the delight of horror fans who love their fears with a healthy dose of romance, it was announced that the fourth spell film was in the works David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick back to scripting. Johnson-McGoldrick previously wrote the screenplay for spell 2 as well as Spell: The devil made me do it. In 2021 the third Spell The film propelled the entire franchise to over $2 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the most successful horror franchise in history.

While promoting his new horror movie with a killer doll M3GAN, spell director James Wang sat down with a permanent collider horror expert Alice Wax. During their conversation, Wax made sure to ask about the following. Spell the film and what future plans Wang has for the franchise. Wang was quick to reassure fans that the franchise was near and dear to his heart, and that the creative team was very focused on creating the story of Ed and Lorraine Warren. He said:

“Yes, we are working on it right now. With Spell movies, we really appreciate [them]. And so we kind of want to just take our time to make sure we got it right and to make sure that the emotions of the Warren stories that we want to tell and the transition to them and maybe the conclusion, we just want to make sure that it’s the right thing, the right story we’re telling.”

At the mention of “potential completion” Spell films, Wax asked Van if this next film would really be his last. If you’re like me and are willing to watch as many of these films as they want to make, you’ll be thrilled to know that Wang’s response, when asked to confirm, was, “We never know. You never know. We’ll see”.

Here’s what we know about the upcoming Spell Cinema

With Johnson-McGoldrick returning to write the fourth film, the stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga they are also confirmed to return as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Little is known about the upcoming sequel, although in terms of plot, the main films of the franchise always borrow from the cases of the real Warrens. However, this doesn’t narrow it down too much, as their infamous case files cover thousands of ghosts. No other cast has been announced yet, and based on Wang’s comments, the plot for the fourth film is still in development.

spell 4 not yet attached to a director, but Michael Chavez, who directed Spell: The devil made me do it is currently filming a prequel franchise with nun 2. The second The Nun movie will once again follow Taissa Farmiga as sisters Irene and Wang teased the possibility of both Farmiga sisters’ characters meeting in-universe.
