Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds successfully hacked the internet back in September when they accidentally announced Wolverine’s return to Deadpool 3. The moment was especially unexpected considering Jackman’s clawed companion sang what was to be his last swan song of 2017. Logan. While the duo only gave a little Vague details about how Wolverine is ultimately alive, Jackman made up for worried fans by providing insight into his character’s relationship with Reynolds’ Mercenary with Mouth. It looks like their on-screen counterparts won’t be as friendly as the off-screen couple.
“How should I classify this? Ten is very close, zero is reality, we are zero, we are opposites, we hate each other,” Jackman said of his relationship with Reynolds on The Empire Film podcast. “I’m just speaking from my point of view, [Logan is] frustrated with him, wants to be a million miles away, or wants to hit him in the head. Unfortunately, in this movie, he can’t be a million miles away, so I’ll probably hit him in the head a lot.”
While Wolverine’s return has been met with excitement around the world, there have been many questions about how the resurrection of the X-Men character ties into his tragic death. It looks like the convenient infinite number of Marvel timelines is the key to explaining this. “It’s all because of this device that the Marvel world has to move through timelines,” he said. SiriusXM previously. “Now we can go back because, you know, this is science. Logan timing, which was important to me. And I think probably the fans too.”
With over 17 years of playing Wolverine under his belt, Jackman has won hearts with his portrayal of a highly complex character. Although fickle and aggressive in nature, he was also synonymous with his strict moral code. When asked about what we can expect from the character in the upcoming film, Jackman teased viewers that they would be met with a “angrier and grumpier” Logan. It likely pairs well with Deadpool’s characteristic dry wit and slightly offensive humor. It was this trademark humor that earned the film an R rating, which should be preserved in the third part. Shawn Levy is going to sit at the helm of the project while Rhett Reese and Paul Wernickwho worked on the previous two Dead Pool films are expected to return to their roles. It might be a long wait until we finally see Wolverine return, but it looks like it’s definitely worth it.
