David F. Sandberg, director of both Shazam! and upcoming Shazam! Fury of the gods, there is a Christmas present for DC fans and fans Shazam! movies: A behind-the-scenes video posted on Instagram of the two actors dancing, where Sandberg said he commented to his wife: Lotta Lostenabout how this Christmas is “the last Christmas” before the film’s release.
Martha Milanswho plays Billy Batson’s foster mom Rosa Vasquez and Rachel Zeglerwho plays Anthea, daughter of Atlas, dance with each other in the snow. Milans commented on the video saying she thought her dancing was terrible, and Zegler commented too, saying that she felt special and that the “screams” [in the video] really does it.” The video and commentary show the camaraderie between the two actors and the fun they had on set, which seems to fit with the fun tone the movie seems to provide.
Shazam! Fury of the gods Set after the events of the first film, Billy Batson and his adopted siblings must return to the superhero game and use their powers to fight the Daughters of Atlas, a group that wants to destroy the world. Superheroes need to travel to make peace with the gods who gave them their powers because Billy took their powers for granted. Since Billy is just a child, it would make sense if he took his abilities for granted, and this film takes him through an arc where he learns to appreciate them.
Along with Milans and Zegler, Cooper Andrews returns as Billy’s adoptive father, Victor Vasquez. Asher Angeland Zachary Levy come back as Billy Batson/Shazam, and Jack Dylan Grazer, Yang Chen, Grace Fulton, Jovan Armand, and Faith Herman return as his adoptive siblings, who, along with Billy, are the superheroes of Shazam. Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu play Hespera and Calypso, two daughters of Atlas. Djimon Hounsou plays the last surviving member of the Council of Wizards who gave the power of the gods to Billy. Lotsen is also due to appear in the film, albeit in a new role, as her character from the first film did not survive.
