Netflix made an announcement on their official Twitter page with the words; “This is a wrapper heart block Season 2″. Along with the announcement, the streamer posted two photos, one with the creator of the series. Alice Osman surrounded by the main stars of the show Keith Connor as well as Joe Locke and another zoomed-in photo of the rainbow cap flapper held by Oseman, which equally features a cute drawing of the show’s two protagonists, a reference to the webcomic and graphic novel by Oseman from which the story is adapted.
The first season of the British coming-of-age drama spans volumes 1 and 2 of the novels and follows popular high school jock Nick Nelson (Connor) as he begins to struggle with his sexuality. He befriends classmate Charlie Spring (Locke) who has recently been exposed, and as their friendship blossoms, Charlie soon realizes he might want something other than a platonic friendship with Nick. The second season will continue the adaptation of the novel series from the third volume, in which Nick reciprocates Charlie’s feelings when the couple starts dating and Nick finds the courage to confess to his mom. This season, the boys will also go on a school trip to Paris, where they will both have to choose the perfect time to make their romance official to friends.
Netflix has announced that all original cast members have returned for season 2, including Yasmine Finney, William Gao, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Sebastian Croft, Toby Donovan, Rhea Norwoodas well as Jenny Walser.
