If you were one of the many who watched the final episode of the second season of the USA Network and the popular Syfy series, Chuckyyou’ll know it was a blood-soaked affair. To be fair, almost every episode this season has had quite a few gore scenes, but last week’s The Real Chucky had some shocking moments drenched in buckets of gore. Continuing to delight fans with the best behind-the-scenes footage, Jennifer Tilly took to Twitter to share some details on how the dirty steps were taken to make sure the set was drenched in blood - or rather, some sort of red substance.
Approaching a crew member whose name we do not catch, but who is wearing an amazing Shine Tilly asks how the special effects team was able to pull off such a daunting task. As he describes it, two pressure vessels were filled to the brim with “blood” before they were given 20 minutes to do their thing and paint the walls “to portray someone who is dying catastrophically.” As she rents a room, Tilly praises the artist for a job well done, showing the audience the finished product and laughing, saying he “really went to town”. Calling him a “plasma artist”, Tilly chuckles before the video comes to an end.
While Christmas colors can be red and green, by the end of the holiday theme this week, everything was red. Chucky the last episode of the season. Another hit for Don Mancini and his Child Game Universe, the second season of the television series boasts the highest ratings in the entire franchise. Welcome back ChuckyBrad Dourif) and twin children Tiffany (Tilly) Glen and Glenda (Lachlan Watson), along with a slew of special guests, the latter installment has gone down in the books as one of the most creative, carnage-filled and campy takes on a Good Guys possessed doll we’ve ever seen.
Like last year, viewers are left with a bunch of cliffhangers that won’t be answered until next season, with a few major deaths playing out in recent episodes, and even a holiday in Europe in the works (sort of). Even though the show’s second season renewal came while the first season was still airing, fans are confused about when and if there will be a third season. Judging by the huge success of the latest installment, it wouldn’t make sense for Syfy and USA Network to resume production and continue to boost the ratings of their explosive series.
