Frequent Freaks employee Jeff Tremaine going to make a documentary called stolen kingdom, which chronicles the turbulent history of the Walt Disney Resort. Tremaine is no stranger to debauchery, having recently filmed this year Freaks forevertogether with Jackass: The Movie, Freaks number two, as well as Freaks 3D. Joshua Bailey as well as Sam Frazier direct stolen kingdom, which is their film debut. The title of the upcoming documentary has been released and contains the text “Bad things happen in the happiest place on Earth”. The headline treatment shows newspaper clippings against an ominous black and red background, causing all sorts of intrigue.

stolen kingdom will span 30 years, investigating all the outrageous pranks that followed at Walt Disney World Resort, including the theft of a highly valuable audio animatronic from the now defunct Cranium Command attraction. The animatronic was sold on the black market for nearly $500,000. Tremaine spoke about how he got involved with the project, saying, “Josh and Sam somehow found me and introduced me to this story, which I found so exciting. I was inspired not only by this story, but also by these young filmmakers. I have been involved in some violations at Disneyland and I am very happy to be involved in this.”

Tremaine producing stolen kingdom through his own Gorilla Flicks banner. Tremaine has had a lot of success as a producer lately, especially after he became an executive producer on a documentary. bad ax. bad ax follows an Asian American family traveling Trump America in 2020. The film won the People’s Choice Award at SXSW this year and currently holds the title of the most awarded documentary of 2022.

Tremaine co-author of the original Freaks series with Spike Jonze as well as Johnny Knoxville, which ran for 3 seasons on MTV in the early 2000s. The director also made frequent appearances on the series as himself. Tremaine has stayed true to his roots and has served as an executive producer on several stunt reality shows including absurdity, Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, Nitro Circusas well as Squad of idlers. Tremaine’s other credits as a director include the Netflix biopic Mötley Crüe. Dirtas well as Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa. Freaks alum will direct the series’ upcoming sixth season The Eric Andre Showand will also appear in an upcoming documentary, Brandon Novak story.
