Must read

Trading Sundays in 2023 are similar to the previous year. We will use the opportunity to make purchases on the last day of the week only seven times. One of them is September 3rd?

  • When are Sunday auctions?
  • Trade Prohibition Act
  • Where will we shop on September 3rd?

Non-shopping Sundays mean that most stores and malls are closed during this time. They were introduced in 2018 with the Trade Prohibition Act. However, we know from the document which stores can be open regardless of the day. Let’s check if we will be shopping on September 3rd and in which stores.

When are Sunday auctions?

The Trade Prohibition Act contains top-down time limits during which trading is permitted. Trading Sundays fall before Easter and Christmas. They are also scheduled for the last Sunday of January, June and August. There are no trading Sundays scheduled in September. This means that on September 3, most retail and service outlets will remain closed.

Other trading Sundays in 2023 will be:

  • December 17;

  • December 24th.

Sunday trading recommendations also allow us to check which Sundays in 2024 we will be able to shop.

  • 28 January;

  • March 24;

  • April 28;

  • 30 June;

  • 25-th of August;

  • December 15;

  • Dec 22.

Trade Prohibition Act

The decision to restrict trade on Sundays and public holidays was adopted on January 10, 2018. It clearly defines the rules for the operation of stores on the last day of the week. However, at first the ban was less strict. Purchases can be made every first and last Sunday of the month. As of 2020, there are only seven such cases per year.

Where will we shop on September 3rd?

Even though August 6 falls on a non-trading Sunday, some outlets will remain open. All because of the list of exceptions that was included in the law. Based on this, we know that the following will work:

  • gas stations;

  • restaurants and pubs;

  • florists;

  • bakeries and confectioneries;

  • ice cream shops;

  • pharmacy points;

  • stores where the owner is behind the counter;

  • animal hospitals;

  • shops at railway stations and airports;

  • kiosks.
