According to radio station RMF FM, major changes are coming to the state coal distribution program. It will also be possible to order fuel for the next heating season.
As RMF FM radio reported on Saturday, major changes will take place in the state coal distribution program. They mainly concern surplus coal left to local authorities. After changing the rules, residents will be able to order fuel for the next heating season.
Unsold coal
First of all, the limits on coal that local governments can sell to the population must change. - The application deadline will be extended until June, and the sales period - until the end of July, - says Marek Wujcik, an expert of the Association of Polish Cities, in an interview with RMF FM correspondents.
Unsold coal can be used by local governments themselves, for example, by transferring it to municipal enterprises. It will also be possible to sell coal between communes.
Coal distribution
Since November 7, municipalities wishing to participate in the state coal distribution program have been able to apply for its purchase. To date, almost 2 million tons of coal have been sold in this way. Now that the heating season is ending, orders have fallen from 40,000 to 20,000 tons per day.
Under the provisions of the law, communes can buy coal from state-owned companies at a price of PLN 1,500 per ton. They can sell it for 2000 PLN.
The communes can do this independently, act in concert with other communes, and the distribution of coal can be organized by the municipal enterprise or coal warehouse with which the commune enters into an agreement, as well as by production groups of farmers who have scales.
Municipalities that bought coal for sale before the new rules came into effect will be able to apply for a refund of the difference in price.
