Netflix is changing its strategy. The streaming service is user-friendly and lowers prices. Thus, the company wants to attract new users.

The streaming giant lives up to the expectations of its subscribers. The implemented solutions are also designed to help attract new customers.

Netflix has launched a pilot program in some countries.

In early February, Netflix pulled back from its announced revolution in the fight against dishonest users who share their passwords with others. Instead, the streaming platform launched a pilot program in four selected countries and proposed new solutions.

Introduced, among other things, restrictions on the exchange of passwords with people who do not live in the same household. The service will charge a monthly fee for each additional user. In Portugal it will be 3.99 euros per month for sharing an account with one person, in Spain it will be 5.99 euros.

Netflix introduces promotions. Lower prices will be in selected countries

Now Netflix has taken it one step further. The streaming giant will cut prices for subscribers in more than 30 countries, according to the BBC. Lower fees will be available in select countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. Lower subscriptions have been offered, e.g. in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Venezuela, Kenya and Iran.

Croatia, on the other hand, was on the privileged list of European countries. In short, lower UK or US subscriptions were out of the question.

One of the reasons that makes the service take this decision is the increased competition from streaming competitors. This includes Amazon, HBO and Disney. There are other reasons as well.

The past year has not been a successful one for the site. Netflix was losing users

According to experts, the changes are caused by weaker results achieved by the company in 2022. It was then that the service lost subscribers for the first time in a decade. This was contrary to analysts’ expectations. From April to June alone, the service lost almost a million users. There was a huge sell-off in Netflix shares in the US stock market.

The company had to significantly cut jobs, several hundred employees were laid off. To increase its market share, it launched a cheaper ad-supported streaming option. The main changes were announced in January.

The head of Netflix announced the changes. Want to get more followers

Greg Peters, a Netflix executive who is considered a “hyper-rational” behind-the-scenes player, has revealed how he plans to get more subscribers.

“We want to make this spectrum even wider as we strive to serve more users around the world and strive to deliver the right value at different price points.” - He said.
