UK Stock Exchange Reports. Markets are reacting to the Fed’s words

The turmoil in the stock markets continues. Wall Street is reacting to statements by the head of the Fed about further tightening of monetary policy. It is also interesting in the UK, where the record has just been broken.

The American stock market finally positively reacted to yesterday’s statements by the Fed Chairman and ended Tuesday’s session with growth (S&P 500 +1.29%, DJIA +0.78%, Nasdaq Composite +1.9%). On the stock exchanges in Asia and Oceania today dominated by a slight increase in major indices (the strongest - by 1.41% - was recorded by the Taiwanese TAIEX).

Breaking its previous record set in 2018, the UK FTSE 100 reached its all-time high today. ).

WIG-20 grows on the Warsaw Stock Exchange

Ekranoplan-20 increased by approx. 9:50, by 1 percent. The WIG-Automotive index today became the highest in history. Among the mWIG 40 components, Livechat, Ciech, Bank Handlowy and Inter Cars hit their highest prices in at least a year. Among the components of the sWIG 80, the share price of the PCF Group hit its lowest level on record today.

The Polish 10-year Treasury yield rose above 6 percent yesterday, and this morning tried to return below this level (6.013 percent). Yield growth slightly corrected to the highest monthly level for the last 3 sessions and for 10-year US bonds.

Crude oil with slight increase

Crude oil futures are up slightly this morning (WTI +0.29%, Brent +0.18% around 9:35 am). Yesterday gas prices in Europe fell to a week low, approaching the January low. Precious metals prices rose slightly today (gold +0.55%, silver +1.32%, platinum +0.66%, palladium +1.07% around 9:35).

Exchange rates. Weak dollar

The US dollar fell below 131 JPY against the Japanese yen yesterday and was trading below this level (-0.1%) this morning. Similarly, the euro/dollar exchange rate rose slightly this morning (+0.20% around 9:30 am).

The bitcoin rate against the US dollar this morning slightly corrected yesterday’s growth, falling by approx. 9:25, by 0.17%.
