There will be a new program of credit support for farmers. Deputy Prime Ministers Henryk Kowalczyk and Jacek Sasin informed about the products prepared by PKO BP.
Bank PKO BP is launching new solutions for Polish agriculture. Vice Prime Minister Henryk Kowalczyk and Jacek Sasin presented the information today in the company of PKO BP President Pawel Grzy.
– This is a product that is the answer to the expectations of the Polish countryside – said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin.
- In such a situation, it is worth emphasizing how important it is for the state to have power over key enterprises. State-owned companies have joined in, for example, the fight against coronavirus, producing medical supplies, masks and disinfectants. SSP also undertook the construction of temporary hospitals - Jacek Sasin mentioned.
– The same thing happened recently when we were threatened by an energy crisis that could threaten Polish families. It was the SSP who reacted and started importing coal. We have been able to ensure continuity of supply for selected customers. This has happened and will continue to happen, because the tools in the hands of the state are continued the vice-premier.
Kowalczyk: Farmers talked about the need for good loans
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk also spoke about the need to prepare banking products for farmers. According to him, this is very important, since agriculture is a specific sector of the economy.
- Many farmers spoke about the need for good credit lines, good financing for agriculture. Agriculture is a specific industry. This is not a nail factory. It is impossible to stop production overnight, and we have a guarantee of the sale of what we produce. Such a price stabilizer and good credit lines adapted to agriculture are much needed. This is the role of a large and strong bank capable of supporting this type of lending and offering special conditions for agriculture, Henryk Kowalczyk said.
PKO President: We missed it in our proposal
The president of PKO BP, Pavel Gruz, acknowledged that the bank’s offer does not yet contain solutions that would help farmers.
– More than 100 years ago, Poland and the Poles entrusted us with capital to create a universal and common bank. We have noticed that the current offer of the bank does not include such an important area as agriculture and agri-food industry. We did not have an offer tailored to the needs of this very demanding market – Pavel Gruz said.
Help farmers. What can they expect?
Pavel Gruzá presented two ready-made elements and also mentioned the solutions that the bank is currently working on.
Let’s start with two main elements. First loan up to PLN 300,000 for 5 years, no collateral required, with the best margin on the market. It will be a very flexible product, adapted to the production and income of different types of farmers. The second element is a special account for farmers, which will be free for two years. He will be able to use the portal of the Agency for the Development and Modernization of Agriculture directly from our application - Pavel Gruz said.
- In the near future, products related to the ability to purchase and finance fertilizers will also be available. We will implement them in cooperation with Grupa Azoty and AgroChem, said the president of PKO BP. He also mentioned the forthcoming solutions that will allow leasing of new and used agricultural equipment, as well as insurance.
