Poland and France have entered into an agreement on the supply of surveillance satellites for the army.
On Tuesday in Warsaw, National Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak met with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu. During the meeting, the ministers approved a contract for the supply of two observation satellites together with a receiving station located in Poland.
The technology will be used by the Polish army, which, thanks to satellites, will be able to receive intelligence data with an accuracy of up to 30 centimeters. Moreover, the satellites will operate in a constellation, allowing images of a much larger area of the Earth than is possible in the case of a single country.
- We had the opportunity to jointly approve an agreement between the French, European company Airbus and the Polish Arms Agency regarding the equipping of the Polish Army with two reconnaissance satellites. Blaschak said during a joint conference with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu.
“This is an extremely important ability, this is an extremely important opportunity to complement everything related to deterrence. But that’s all that is also related to the possibility of early warning - both in the military and in the civilian dimension, he added.

During the meeting on Tuesday, the defense ministers of Poland and France also discussed the support that both countries can provide to war-torn Ukraine.
