Economists at Goldman Sachs have released their latest economic forecasts. They contain bad news for the United States.
A very interesting conclusion follows from the long-term economic forecast published by Goldman Sachs economists for 104 countries. This applies to the two largest economies.
China on the way to the top
According to experts, in 2035, that is, in a little more than 12 years, the Chinese economy will overtake the American one and become the largest economy in the world. The outlook for 2050 looks more pessimistic for the US. Then, apart from China, India will also be economically stronger.
Poland outside the top fifteen
The bank presented the first fifteen positions for 2050 and 2075. Poland is not included in any of these lists.
In 2050, the economic power distribution is expected as follows: China, USA, India, Indonesia, Germany, Japan, UK, Brazil, France, Russia, Mexico, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Canada and Nigeria. Expanding over the next 25 years, the top 15 will look like this: China, India, USA, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Egypt, Brazil, Germany, UK, Mexico, Japan, Russia, Philippines and France.
It is clear that Goldman Sachs economists are betting on the very strong development of Asian countries, which, from the role of Western factories, will become strong, independent economies that can compete with the current powers. The pandemic has shown that the existing economic ties between the developed West and the production-oriented East are beginning to lose their meaning. Companies from Europe and North America see the need to reorganize production chains, which may force the East to look for new ways of development.
