Putin’s decree on partial mobilization scared the Russians. The FlightRadar website showed what the air traffic from Moscow looked like over the past 24 hours.
Istanbul, Antalya, Yerevan or Tbilisi. These are the most popular destinations from Moscow in the last 24 hours. Theoretically, the traffic is as usual, but the details are important.
Absurd prices and overcrowded planes
The FightRadar portal, which allows you to track in real time all the aircraft in the world that have transponders turned on (all civil and some military), presented a fragment of flights over the past day. This applies to flights from Moscow.
Registered flights include all passenger flights made since the enactment of Vladimir Putin’s decree on “partial” mobilization into the army, as a result of which up to 300,000 people are sent to the front. Some people affected by the regulation have chosen to leave the country, which has affected the availability and cost of airfare.
According to FlightRadar analysts, the recording does not show that air traffic with Moscow is increasing. As usual, but interest in seats on board aircraft has raised prices five times higher than usual.
Russians flee to Turkey
A very large part of the flights departing from Russia were heading to Turkey. The most popular destinations were Istanbul and Antalya. Since the beginning of the war, Turkey has not taken sides in the conflict and has not closed its airspace to Russian aircraft. Russian tourist destinations, popular before the war, have now become a major escape route from Putin’s edict.
Those who cannot afford expensive tickets, or who do not want to flee the country but do not have the will to fight the Ukrainians, are looking for other ways to avoid being drafted. The Internet is looking for answers, among other things, to questions such as: “How to break a hand at home?”.
