A black panel decorated with a star pattern, a new steering wheel and new trim elements went to Mercedes from the EQ series, that is, an electrician: EQA and EQB. They also had updated assistance systems and were equipped with the new generation MBUX.
Basically, it’s about a facelift and adding a few technological bells and whistles from the EQ cars, but from a higher shelf, ie. starting with the letter C (EQC, then also EQE and EQS). The babes have the MBUX system upgraded. Now it has improved voice control. The system better understands the driver giving commands. New assistance systems and Plug & Charge charging technology were also introduced. Of the more practical things, the EQB in the five-seater version has got a tow bar (the maximum traction capacity of the brake trailer is 1400 or 1700 kg, depending on whether the front-wheel drive version or the 4Matic is in question).
Several visual changes
Visual change number one is the new black panel. After the facelift, it was decorated with a star pattern. This of course depends on the version. However, the intended effect was achieved - the idea was that the EQA and EQB would no longer be perceived as small, visually referring to the larger electric models of Mercedes. The designers also updated the rear light inserts.
Inside, the list of new features includes a latest-generation steering wheel with touchpads and backlit open-pore basswood trim with a star pattern.
Perhaps more importantly, the EQA’s range has been extended to 560 km (WLTP cycle). This is due to the fact that the aerodynamics have been changed and new tires with lower rolling resistance have been used. Every day you will appreciate the new range maximization function: energy consumers such as the display or air conditioning can be switched off or their functionality limited.
Easy and convenient charging
Thanks to the Mercedes me Charge Plug & Charge feature, the updated EQA and EQB models can be charged more conveniently at public charging stations that support Plug & Charge technology. After connecting the cable, the charging process will start automatically. Additional authentication is not required. The vehicle and the charging station communicate directly via the charging cable.
The restyled Mercedes EQA and EQB will be available for order from autumn 2023. The first cars will arrive at European dealerships in early 2024.
