A few days ago, YouTube channel “Stop Cham” posted a video showing a Tesla driver driving down the S5 road with his eyes closed. Now a new video has hit the web, this time uploaded by an allegedly sleeping woman.
Recall that the first video shows how the Tesla Model 3 moves along the S5 expressway. The vehicle is moving in the left lane at about 120 km/h (confirmed by visual indication on the head-up display of the recording vehicle). As the Mazda driver behind the Tesla aligns with the electric car, he notices a woman behind the wheel with her eyes closed.
Tesla woman explains
A woman who allegedly drove a Tesla while sleeping at the wheel reacted to a video sent by a Mazda driver. She referred to the situation that occurred on the S5 highway, and, as proof of her innocence, sent a recording from the interior of the car she was driving.
“I was awake avoiding eye contact while being filmed with the driver who uploaded the video above. Why? Because a moment earlier, the same driver had approached the bumper, flashed his high beams, overtaken like crazy, then braked hard, opened the window, told me to open it, and called me the worst. In the end, he let himself be overtaken and recorded a video. Ms. Magda tells YT Stop Cham.
The second video shows the entire event from the Tesla driver’s point of view. The video should prove that the driver was not asleep. This is evidenced by the fact that before the event she started a record of traffic in the left lane on the S5. To have such an entry in Tesla, you need to go to the car menu and save. This action cannot be performed while sleeping.

“I was driving at the maximum permitted speed, overtaking both this driver and two trucks in front of him. Before I got into the right lane so he could overtake me, he turned right, caught up with me, and out of the corner of my eye I saw that he was probably recording me. I didn’t look at him because I don’t get into verbal altercations or hand waving. I focus on the road and ignore aggressive drivers. Just in case, when I saw how he behaves, I turned on the recording of this section of the road. – said Ms. Magda on the website wysokienapiecie.pl.
The incident on the S5 was again reported by a Mazda driver, the author of the first entry published on the Stop Cham YouTube channel. On wysokienapiecie.pl, he reacted to the Tesla driver’s explanation:
“I’m not used to being aggressive on the road, so I drove up to Tesla and after a few hundred meters, when she didn’t turn, I was the first to overtake her in the right lane. Of course, I didn’t honk because it’s aggression. Looking ahead, I looked to the left, Tesla’s window was half open, and the driver was 4-5 meters away, so it seemed to me that he was sleeping. I drove a little more and in the mirror I saw that 4-5 cars behind me were also overtaking in the right lane. One guy beckoned and honked. I slowed down and then filmed a video.” – explained Mr. Kazimierz, Mazda driver.
It’s good that both sides of the dispute have taken a stand. Based on both the notes and the comments of their authors, it can be concluded that none of the drivers is flawless. The Tesla driver blocked the left lane of the expressway, and the Mazda driver, having overtaken the electric car in the right lane, also violated the law.
