Nissan’s electric SUV passed the Green NCAP test, where it received a maximum rating of 5 stars. The tests took place not only in the laboratory, but also on the road.
The abbreviation NCAP is associated mainly with crash tests. Indeed, in 2022, Nissan’s electric SUV passed safety tests, earning it the highest five-star rating. Only that the crash tests took place in 2022. This time, the Nissan Ariya has undergone another test - the Green NCAP test.
What is the Green NCAP test?
The study consists in assessing the requirements of sustainable development and reducing the negative impact on the environment. The testing procedure includes three separate sections: clean air tests, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions. Based on the test results, the overall score of the model is calculated.
High energy efficiency
The electric Nissan Ariya scored 10/10 in the air cleanliness test. The maximum score was awarded for both tests - laboratory and road, which make up the test. Aria also scored high on energy efficiency (9.3/10) and greenhouse gas emissions (9.5/10) indices. Standard road driving was carried out at a low ambient temperature of -1°C. Under these conditions, energy consumption was about 24 kWh/100 km.
The actual battery capacity is higher than the folder
According to Green NCAP, the usable battery capacity is 89.6 kWh, which is more than the officially declared value. The overall charging efficiency of 11 kW from the network was 91.6%. The report notes that this is the highest value ever measured by Green NCAP.
Nissan Ambition 2030 Program
With a maximum range of 533 kilometers and fast charging technology, the all-electric Nissan Ariya is part of Nissan’s commitment to a cleaner future. Sustainability is at the heart of Nissan’s long-term vision for Ambition 2030. By 2030, Nissan plans to launch 23 electrified models, including 19 purely electric models.
