All of the information below would sound pretty trivial if not for the car as the main character. So far, the police have not identified “holes” where electric cars will be dismantled. Looks like thieves are also keeping up with the times.
Criminals from the Jastrzembe police station detained a 35-year-old man suspected of receiving stolen goods. On its territory, the police found a heavily disassembled car KIA EV6. A few days earlier, a car worth PLN 300,000 was stolen in Łódź and then stripped of its body and most of its parts. The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.
The car was stolen in Lodz
As we read, the policemen from the Crime Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jastrzebie-Zdrój received information that there might be a so-called pit on private property. Investigators found that on April 26, a car was stolen in Lodz.
On Friday, May 5, 2023, the criminals from Jastrzembe started their implementation and went to the chosen address. They searched the property. In the garage and basement, law enforcement officers found a heavily disassembled KIA EV6 electric car. Disassembled parts lay nearby. After checking the IT database, the police confirmed that this car worth PLN 300,000 was stolen in Łódź.
A 35-year-old man was arrested and taken to the police. Based on the collected evidence, the investigators charged him with receiving stolen property for a large amount, which is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years. At the request of the police and prosecutors, the district court in Jastrzebie-Zdrój sentenced the suspect to three months of pre-trial detention.
