He didn’t have a driver’s license and was driving in the wrong direction. His further dangerous journey was stopped by the police.
The incident occurred after 18:00 at the Lodz-Polnots crossroads. Police officers from the Lodz Speed group, driving a police car, noticed a BMW that was moving along the highway “against the current”. They immediately stopped the vehicle.
“The driver was a 21-year-old driver, a resident of the Zgierz region,” Komm. Aneta Soberai from the Łódź police. The man explained that he mixed up the exits and, in order to get back on the right track, turned back. Going against the current, he wanted to get on the right track.
The case will go to court
Thanks to the quick response of the staff, there was no incident with other road users. The end of this dangerous journey will end in court. As it turned out, the man did not have a driver’s license.
Taking this opportunity, the police reminds that driving against the current entails a fine of at least PLN 2,000 and the imposition of 6 demerit points. Such irresponsible actions can lead to a collision or even a serious accident. “We ask drivers to pay special attention to horizontal and vertical signs indicating the direction of movement,” commandant Aneta Soberai calls.
