The Volvo Cars Technology Center in Krakow will be headed by Przemysław Berendt. Ultimately, up to 600 engineers will find work in the branch of the company, and they can already submit their applications.

The new technology center in Krakow is, according to Volvo Cars, “a step towards the development of capabilities in the field of software development.” The R&D centers, reinforced by the Technology Center in Krakow, will enable Volvo to achieve an important goal: by the middle of this decade, 50 percent of Volvo Cars software must be developed in-house.

Start of work before the end of 2023

Przemysław Berendt has joined the Volvo Cars and R&D Software Engineering team as head of the new technology center in Krakow from 1 March 2023. He will play a key role in supervising the construction of this center. He will also be responsible for the recruitment and engagement of software and data analysis experts. The aim of these measures is to achieve operational efficiency by the Krakow branch by the end of 2023.

“Pshemek’s extensive experience in developing and managing multi-geographic technology companies, mid-sized companies and start-ups makes him an ideal candidate for this role,” says Alvin Bakkenes, head of software development at Volvo Cars. “I look forward to working with him and the local team to build our latest software center in Krakow, which will complement our existing engineering centers around the world.

Experienced Manager

For 15 years, Berendt has been building technology teams and building software technology brands in Poland and around the world. Recently, he has been developing Talent Alpha from a small startup to a global software talent platform with an intelligent talent selection platform operating in more than 40 countries.

Job applications at the Volvo Cars Technology Center in Krakow are now open. It will eventually employ up to 600 engineers.
