Police officers from Piotrków detained a 29-year-old man who exceeded the speed limit by 89 km/h on a motorway. The man received a fine of PLN 2,500 and 15 demerit points.

The situation happened after 20:00. Police officers from the Piotrków highway detained a McLaren driver for inspection, who, on the A1 motorway, near Gonski, exceeded the speed limit by 89 km/h.

With a speed limit of 70 km/h, a person was moving at a speed of 159 km/h. For the violation, a 29-year-old man received a fine of PLN 2,500 and 15 demerit points.

- We remind you that speeding is one of the main causes of traffic accidents - says St. Asp. Isabela Gajewska from the Piotrkow police. - Haste, inattention and concentration can lead to tragic events. By maintaining a safe speed, adapting it to road conditions and our own skills, we reduce the risk of dangerous accidents. You should also be aware of the speed reduction in the area of ​​pedestrian crossings and in places with increased pedestrian traffic. In a collision with a moving vehicle, an unprotected road user has no chance. By maintaining the right speed, we care about our safety and the safety of others.

More penalties, more points

Recall that in accordance with the current legislation for speeding:

  • 31-40 km/h entails a fine of PLN 800 and 6 demerit points,

  • at 41-51 km/h - PLN 1000 and 8 demerit points,

  • at 51-60 km/h - PLN 1500 and 10 penalty points,

  • at 61-70 km/h - PLN 2000 and 12 penalty points,

  • at 71 km/h or more - PLN 2500 and 15 demerit points.
