After women with a medical or pharmaceutical education become military registered from October 1, 2023, they acquire the status of conscripts, for whom travel abroad will be limited.
This was stated in a comment by RBC-Ukraine Fyodor Venislavsky, member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Presidential Representative in the Council.
The deputy recalled that last year the Council amended Article 1 of the law on mobilization training and mobilization, and provided that women with medical or pharmaceutical education should be put on mandatory military registration.
According to him, in pursuance of this law, the Cabinet of Ministers issued a decree on the procedure for military registration, and the Ministry of Defense issued an order on military registration of women. According to this order, it is stipulated that from October 1, women with a medical or pharmaceutical education must be registered with the military.
“If they are registered, they will acquire the status of conscripts. Those liable for military service go abroad in the order established for those liable for military service. That is, if there are separate documents that give the right to temporary departure, then yes, they will be able to go. If not, then they, like men, will be limited in their right to leave.”- said Venislavsky.
The parliamentarian also added that all other women with military specialties related to military affairs can be registered voluntarily from the same date.
“There are currently no plans to expand the list of specialties for women that must be registered,” Venislavsky added.
Recall that in October 2022, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on voluntary military registration of women. Women with a specialty and / or profession related to medical activity must be registered with the military. From October 1, they must come to the TCC and go through all the necessary procedures.
