It seems that the Kremlin is completely confused in the interpretation of the unsuccessful rebellion of the private military company (PIK) “Wagner”. On July 13, the Russian President gave an interview to Andrei Kolesnikov, correspondent of the Kommersant newspaper. Vladimir Putin’s statements, of course, were immediately repeated by all the country’s federal media.
Kolesnikov asked, in particular, whether the Wagner PPK would remainas a combat unit“?
“We don’t have a law on private military organizations! It just doesn’t exist! There is a group, but legally it does not exist! This is a private issue related to real legalization. But this is a question that should be discussed in the State Duma, in the government. It’s not an easy question… But there is no such legal entity.”Putin replied.
Thus, the Russian leader publicly acknowledged that the state had paid over 86 billion rubles to a company or a legally non-existent organization! Recall that it was the paths three days after the unsuccessful rebellion of the “Wagnerites” that he called them in his appeal to the Russians.private military companyand declared:From May 2022 to May 2023 alone, the state paid the Wagner company 86 billion 262 million rubles for cash support and incentive payments. Of these, the allowance is 70 billion 384 million, incentive payments - 15 billion 877 million. Insurance payments - 110 billion 179 million.
An interesting collision emerges. Huge sums from the federal budget were directed to a “simply non-existent” structure!
Putin also published his version of the meeting with Yevgeny Prigozhin and the commanders of the “Wagnerites”.
The owner of the Kremlin confirmed that this conversation took place on June 29. According to Putin, he offered “possible options for the further passage of their service, including combat use” under the leadership of their direct commander with the call sign “Seda”.
“Many nodded when I said this. And Prigozhin, who was sitting in front, said, after listening to me: “No, the guys do not agree with such a decision.”Putin said.
Such an interpretation of the meeting, if, of course, it took place at all, means that the Kremlin is now seeking to separate Prigozhin from the PVK and shift all the blame for the rebellion on him. And the “Wagnerites”, they say, became victims of deception by a businessman. This is their only fault, otherwise they are good guys, real patriots who can continue to fight and kill “bad Ukrainians”.
Earlier, FACTS wrote that a purge began in the Russian army after Prigogine’s rebellion - 13 high-ranking officers were detained, 15 more were fired.
