Have time to send before July 1: Ukrposhta will no longer accept and will not deliver parcels

In Ukraine, where one of the postal companies previously introduced a new useful service, from July 1, 2023, Ukrposhta will no longer accept or deliver parcels. This was reported by the company.

“One of the changes arising from the new law “On Postal Communications” and aimed at simplifying the product line of postal services is the abolition of parcels. July 1, 2023 Ukrposhta will no longer accept or deliver parcels. Note: the cancellation of parcels will in no way affect the wallets of customers: delivery of parcels weighing up to 0.25 kg in Ukraine costs the same as delivery of a letter of the same weight, that is, 18 UAH for non-priority and 22.5 UAH for priority sending. The cost of a sheet and parcels weighing up to 1 kg costs 36 and 45 UAH, and weighing up to 2 kg - 48 and 60 UAH, respectively. Ukrposhta appeals to customers and urges everyone who has specially purchased stamps to send parcels in Ukraine or abroad to use them until July 1″- the message says.

Ukrposhta noted that letters, small packages and parcels will become an alternative to parcels.

“Customers will feel the convenience of using other types of shipments compared to parcels already when registering the first shipment: registering a parcel, letter or small package takes less time, since there is no need to stick stamps for payment. In addition, unlike parcels, they can be issued at any convenient time in the Personal Account, further reducing the time spent at the branch.- the message says.

Note that the cancellation of parcels will also apply to international delivery.

“The Ukrposhta team was preparing for the implementation of these legislative changes in advance, so as early as April 1, 2023, a profitable alternative was launched in the form of the PRIME Small Package product, which will also be available for the United States from June 1. “Small package PRIME” is a profitable alternative to the small recommended package, as well as parcels. The postal service was developed specifically for the online sales format and operates in 67 countries, including Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, and from June 01 in the USA. The ‘PRIME Small Packet’ is delivered to the mailbox, processed in the country of destination with priority, and tracked across all countries in the PRIME network.”- reported in “Ukrposhta”.
