The Bereznovskaya community paid their last respects to soldier Roman Tsipan. The 29-year-old hero died on December 28, 2023 while performing a combat mission in the Zaporozhye region, the obituary says.
According to fellow countrymen, the future warrior studied at the Bereznovsky lyceum-boarding school for sports. After that, he attended Polesie College, where he graduated with a degree in Physical Education and received the qualification of a physical education teacher. Upon completion of his studies, he served in military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In his sports life, Roman, through persistent work, reached the level of Master of Sports of Ukraine in weightlifting and was part of the Rivne region national team at the Ukrainian Weightlifting Championship. He honorably continued the sports traditions of his family, because his late father was a master of sports in weightlifting, and his older brother Vadim is an international master of sports of Ukraine in kayaking and canoeing.
Roman’s early years were spent in his hometown of Berezno. Everyone remembers him as a friendly, kind, lively and positive young man, always ready to help. Teachers and instructors recall that Roman was a well-mannered and capable student, an active student.
Accompanied by an honor guard and flag bearers, the Hero was led through a living corridor of honor along a road strewn with flowers to the temple, where the funeral service took place.
The farewell to the defender continued on the city Independence Square. Roman was buried with full military honors at the city cemetery in the Lukavets tract on the Walk of Fame. The military presented the mother of the deceased with the State Flag of Ukraine. Military salutes were fired in honor of the glorious warrior. The hero is survived by his mother, brother and sister. He didn’t have his own family, so they buried him with a loaf and a branch…
