Bloody meeting of the village council in Transcarpathia: the cause of the incident became known

Before the explosion, at a session of the Keretskiv Territorial Community in Transcarpathia, a discussion was held on the appointment and determination of wage conditions for the head of the Keretskiv TG for 2024. This was reported by journalist Vitaly Glagola.

“A few minutes before the explosion, deputy Sergei Batrin quarreled with his colleagues that during the war it was impossible to give the village mayor a 50% increase and a monthly bonus of 100% of the salary. Most likely, this question aroused Batrin’s indignation, since in the preliminary vote he refused to recognize the work of the chairman of the village council as satisfactory. However, his claims and arguments had no effect on his colleagues - then he simply went out and returned with grenades and intervened in the discussion with the words “Can I say?” and, taking three objects from his jacket pocket, threw them on the floor, as a result of which three explosions were heard. The demolition deputy had a conflict with the current head of the UTG. Deputies even raised the issue of early termination of powers of the head of the Keretskov TG, Mikhail Mushka.”- he said.

Investigators qualified the event under Part 1 of Art. 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code. In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine provides information and investigates the event under Part 1 of Art. 258 (terrorist act) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which is under the jurisdiction of the SBU. This was reported to the police of the Transcarpathian region.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that, according to preliminary data, on December 15, 2023, at about 12:00, the issue of adopting the budget for 2024 was discussed at a session of the village council. During the meeting, one of the deputies entered the hall and blew up three grenades. The bomber is in the intensive care unit of a medical facility. The circumstances of the incident are being established, and priority investigative actions are continuing. The leadership of the Transcarpathian regional and Khust district prosecutor’s offices is working on site. All relevant services, police, and explosives experts are involved. The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigative authorities of the police and the SBU Department in the Transcarpathian region.

As FACTS wrote, recently in the Dnieper district of Kyiv, a serviceman and a woman who was in the house were killed as a result of the detonation of a grenade.
