New diets and principles of nutrition appear regularly on the Internet. And each of them promises to lose weight faster and more efficiently.
One of the new techniques is the practice of eating with closed eyes. German scientists even managed to protest it, the information resource writes.
What Research Says About Practice
An interesting experiment was conducted by scientists from the German University of Konstanz. They divided the students into two groups and offered to eat three types of ice cream. Hundreds of students closed their eyes. Each of the participants in the experiment was asked to describe the taste of ice cream and the approximate weight of the portion eaten.
The results of the study are quite revealing. In the group where the students closed their eyes, 9% less food was eaten than in the parallel group.
As for the definition of taste and exemplary portion, the students did much better with their eyes closed. 88% gave the correct answer. Currently, students from the parallel group have achieved a score of 33%.
Why you should eat with your eyes closed
Scientists have concluded that this technique really helps to quickly lose weight. In just a month, you can lose several kilograms, while you do not need to count calories or restrict yourself in food. There are several points that explain the effectiveness of this technique:
-
with closed eyes, you can fully enjoy the taste of food;
-
the reception becomes slower, because it is not so easy to find pieces of food on a plate with a blindfold;
-
the feeling of fullness is felt more clearly, so it is more difficult to overeat.
Another good thing about eating with your eyes closed is that you don’t see how much food is left on your plate. Therefore, it is important to eat until you feel full. Whatever is left on the plate is redundant.
Recall that a well-known fitness trainer advised how to eat in the spring to please men.
