Due to huge losses at the front, Russian soldiers are looking for ways to escape, including surrendering to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Recently, a serious scandal erupted around the voluntary surrender of a serviceman of the Russian operational group (OG) “Belgorod”, which carried out tasks to cover the state border of Russia. This is reported by the Spy Dossier telegram channel, hosted by one of the intelligence officers:
“The situation is as follows - after the end of the night duty, one of the divisions of the Belgorod OG was missing a soldier who served in close proximity to the state border with Ukraine. The incident mentioned above is under investigation. According to my information, we are talking about a serviceman named Konichev (rank corporal). His colleagues told the investigating authorities that in one of the private conversations between the group’s servicemen, Konichev raised the topic of the “I want to live” project - the coordinating headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In particular, Konichev showed his colleagues video interviews of Russian servicemen who had surrendered after contact with the coordination headquarters.”
According to operational data, the author of the telegram channel adds, on the night of February 24-25, while at the place of night duty, Corporal Konichev told his colleague that he needed to go to the toilet. Taking with him a service AK, ammunition, a walkie-talkie and a thermal imager, he headed towards the state border with Ukraine. Since that time, he has not appeared in the location of the unit.
In parallel with the investigation, the heads of Russian units were ordered to check the personal belongings of military personnel for the presence of mobile phones, as well as suspicious chats and calls in instant messengers.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, over the past day, March 10, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed more than a thousand invaders.
