In the village of Vyshevichi in the Zhytomyr region, they said goodbye to another faithful son of Ukraine - defender Valery Efenberg. He was born in the year when Ukraine declared its independence, and after 31 years he gave his life for the independence of the state.
“The youngest in a large family. At the age of 4 he was left without a mother, at 18 - without a father. A poor boy with a kind heart, honest, sociable, hardworking - this is how Valery was known in the village, - reports the Vyshevitsky House of Culture. - In 2015 he was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Nose served as an artilleryman in the Kherson region, where, ironically, he laid down his life after 7 years … At the end of the service, he returned to his native village, worked at a sawmill. Found my destiny. He lived with his civil wife Yulia for 8 years. The guy, who practically did not know his mother and was left without a father early, most of all wanted to have a real family. He worked hard, the newlyweds kept a considerable household, planned to build their own house, they had already bought building materials … But the war prevented.

From the first days of the war, Valery went to the checkpoint, organized together with his neighbors. On June 22, he received a summons and served in the south in the Nikolaev and Kherson regions. On August 30, during a military clash, artillery shelling in the Novonikolaevka area, visual communication with the fighter was lost. Search work was carried out for a long three months, and only after the liberation of the settlement were the remains of the body of a fighter of military unit A 0998 - Valery …
