On Wednesday, September 21, the Ukrainian national team after the postponed match of the 1st round of the group stage of the Nations League in Division B. Before the match, the coaching staff of the “yellow-blues” faced serious personnel problems - a whole group of key performers for various reasons fell out of the cage and could not help the team at Hampden Park. And if for the time being our guys were frankly lucky - as, for example, in the episode with Adams hitting the crossbar - then in the 70th minute, “tartan” still got their way and opened the scoring in the match. After a set-piece and a serve from the left flank, our defenders were unable to clear the ball, as a result, McGinn won a positional struggle against Bondar in the penalty area and accurately shot into the corner.
Ten minutes later, the Scots actually removed all questions about the winner. Another standard position led to a goal - after a corner (and again from the left flank!) Dykes won the riding fight and sent the ball into the goal with his head. And just before the final whistle, the hosts brought the score to a devastating one, with Dykes scoring a twin goal, again closing the feed from a corner.
As a result, 0:3 - a crushing defeat of Ukraine in Glasgow. Now the wards of Alexander Petrakov have a few days to get up from their knees and achieve the maximum result in the two remaining matches of the League of Nations.
