Admirers of the work of George R. R. Martin waited for the release of a new adaptation of the works of the cult writer. On Sunday, August 21, HBO and HBO-Max, as well as Sky, begin airing the House of the Dragon series based on the book Fire and Blood. The events in it unfold 200 years before what the audience saw in the Game of Thrones.
Many fans of the “Game of Thrones” in the spring of 2019 were disappointed with the finale of the series. And Martin himself was not happy with him. However, the writer is also responsible for this. He never finished his saga. Therefore, the creators of the series were forced to come up with their own ending.
This did not happen with the House of the Dragon. The new series shows the heyday of House Targaryen. Daenerys’ blond ancestors rule the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros from King’s Landing from the Iron Throne.

After all, the House of the Dragon, unlike the first series, was filmed not in Croatia, but in the English county of Cornwall. Some episodes were filmed in Spain and Portugal.
Martin stated that he had already watched all 10 episodes, albeit in a draft version. The writer noted with pleasure that he liked the series. Note that he acted as a co-producer of the House of the Dragon and took part in writing the script. It has everything that I hoped to see: dark, powerful, complex and very realistic characters, which are embodied by really amazing actors.Martin stated.
