On the morning of August 18, the invaders launched another missile attack on Kharkov and hit a hostel in the Sloboda district. As a result, two people died and 18 more were hospitalized. Among the dead is 11-year-old boy Yasha Cherevatenko. A Russian missile hit right in his room. At home, along with Yasha, was his mother, who is now in serious condition in intensive care.
- My daughter talked and was friends with Yasha, they studied at the same school , - Anastasia from Kharkiv told FACTS. - Yasha is a kind and bright boy who loved life very much. He went to Sunday school. The family-type hostel where they lived with their mother is located very close to the tram depot.

“When we saw a report that a Russian rocket hit the hostel where the children from our Sunday school live, we drove there. , - said children’s pastor Elena Pavlova on Instagram. - There, on the spot, they learned that one child was hospitalized with fractures. As for Yasha and his mother, the rocket hit right in their room. Their apartment is no more - everything is destroyed there from the fourth to the first floor. When we arrived, rescuers were pulling people out from under the rubble. One of the victims was alive and screaming… We believed that Yasha was alive with her mother. But then Yasha was found. He is no more… I find it hard to believe that he will no longer come to our school, we will no longer hear his jokes and his laughter… I would like to appeal to all Russians who continue to sponsor this terrible war: you raised the devil. It is you who are responsible for killing our children. And only you can stop it.”
Before that, on the evening of August 17, the invaders fired a rocket at another hostel in Kharkov, where people with hearing problems lived. In total, that night, as a result of Russian shelling in Kharkov, 17 people were killed and 42 others were injured.
